Consultant Anesthesia

• Conduct preoperative assessments to evaluate patients’ medical history, physical condition,
and anesthesia risks.
• Develop tailored anaesthesia plans based on individual patient needs and surgical
requirements.
• Administer general, regional, or local anaesthesia in a safe and effective manner.
• Monitor patients during surgical procedures, adjusting anesthetics and managing vital
functions as necessary.
• Provide postoperative pain management and monitor patients during recovery.
• Respond to emergency situations with appropriate anesthetic intervention and resuscitation
techniques.
• Consult with surgical teams and other specialists to ensure cohesive patient care.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, residents, and trainees.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with hospital policies,
protocols, and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all anesthetic procedures and patient
interactions.
• Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and departmental reviews.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training to remain current with
medical and technological advancements.
